ABOUT WILLIAM J. MOHR JR.
Hi, I am William J Mohr Jr. and I have a one question: Are you satisfied? If you are, then great, this may not be for you. But if you have a passion for Mohr, (pun intended), then you are in the right place!
My background is non-traditional, I always seemed to do things the hard way. I dropped out of school to work and earned a GED. I built a successful landscaping business in just over 6 years. I felt I had found my path and furthering my education was not in my plan. In addition to working, I also pursued other passions. I trained and had great success as a NJ state and national champion powerlifter having won the North American Championships at the age of only 19. My dreams of being an Olympic hopeful were well within my grasp. Sometimes life gets in the way and in a brief moment, my dreams were dashed when I was involved in a severe car accident which left me recovering for over two years. My dreams of the Olympics had ended. However, as one door had closed, others were opened.
During my recovery, I had lots of time for self-reflection. I spent nearly three months in a hospital bed, and it is there that I decided to return to school. One semester at college is all it took. I was hooked and I loved my new studies in Biology and Chemistry. I earned my Associates degree in Biology with honors from the County College of Morris and graduated with a food scientist position for a small development company.
This launched a 20-year career in operations/management within the food and beverage manufacturing industry. Work was great and life was good, but I needed more. So,, at the age of 44, I enrolled in Rutgers University. Three years later, I graduated with a BS in Management and Labor Relations, Summa Cum Laude. Currently I am pursuing my Masters in the same discipline.
In 2019, mid pandemic, I opted for another career change and decided to pursue my passion for growing early talent as a finance, operations and compliance coach with a New York based organization called SEO (Seizing Every Opportunity). It focuses on connecting college students from chronically underserved communities to sought-after internships throughout their academic careers. Moreover, I was appointed to assist students improve their academic writing at Rutgers while working as a Graduate assistant in labor history.
I am excited to share all my knowledge and experience to help you visualize your future! However you choose to define your personal or professional success, is for you to decide, but once you do, I am all-in. I genuinely enjoy diving deep and helping explore an individual's talents, skills, and behaviors. I will work to help you achieve a better version of yourself and most times “the change” requires just a bit of fine tuning. No matter the industry or level of experience I have a toolbox full of assets at your disposal, but my main area of expertise is in emerging leadership training and development.
